The Biwako International Flute Competition is a flute-focused competition. The 29th edition (2026) holds the 1st preliminary round by video screening and the subsequent rounds as in-person judging at Gulliver Hall in Takashima City, Shiga, Japan. It has General and Junior sections.

一般部門：年齢制限なし。
ジュニア部門：2007年5月5日以降に出生した方。

General: no age limit.
Junior: born on or after May 5, 2007.

一般部門：第1位（賞状・賞金10万円）、第2位（賞状・賞金5万円）、第3位（賞状・賞金3万円）、第4位・第5位・入選（賞状・賞品）、オーディエンス賞（賞状・賞品）、武者小路千家賞（賞状・賞品）、はるか賞（賞状・賞金3万円）
ジュニア部門：表彰内容は開催要項の記載に準拠。
General: 1st Prize (certificate + ¥100,000), 2nd (certificate + ¥50,000), 3rd (certificate + ¥30,000), 4th/5th/Finalist (certificate + prize), Audience Prize (certificate + prize), Mushanokōji Senke Prize (certificate + prize), Haruka Prize (certificate + ¥30,000)
Junior: Awards follow the official guidelines.
